The area around the town of Sveti Ivan Zelina, northeast from Zagreb, in Lonja River Valley, catches the eye with green hills, plentiful small vineyards and sleepy villages. White varieties dominate, and local pride is the indigenous Kraljevina. On Zelina wine road you’ll also find excellent Graševina, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, Yellow Muscat, Riesling, Furmint, Pinot blanc, Pinot gris and Kerner. There’s not much experimenting and messing with the heritage here: wines are straightforward, fresh and smooth, but full of pleasant, subtle aromas.

This adventurous tour is for curious wine enthusiasts seeking new experience, but also for those who crave good ol’ traditional flavours in combination with peace and quiet of the countryside.

Zagreb Bites tours are not pre-scheduled, they are a private, bespoke experience always arranged by request and depending on our availability. Last-minute requests are risky and will not always have a positive outcome. For all requests made three days or less in advance, an extra 20 EUR per person is charged.
